Parent Information Evening
Emotional Regulation in Children:
What’s Really Going On Beneath the Behaviour
This parent information night is designed to help you better understand what is really happening for your child beneath their behaviour. We will explore co-regulation, self-regulation and the window of tolerance, unpacking how a child’s nervous system influences their responses, emotions and ability to engage. This session moves beyond surface-level strategies and instead helps you make sense of why your child may struggle in certain moments and what they need instead.
You will walk away with practical, everyday strategies to support your child through big emotions in a way that feels connected, supportive and developmentally appropriate.
We will also challenge common misconceptions (including the idea that regulation simply means being calm) and instead focus on building your confidence in responding to your child in a way that supports safety, connection and long-term skill development.
